What happened: Data from China's Ministry of Human Resources revealed a nationwide recruitment campaign in June involving more than 5,000 technology companies and over 200,000 specialist AI roles. It also showed a substantial movement of engineers from platforms such as Tencent and ByteDance into smart factories and hospitals. Recruitment platform Zhaopin recorded a 28.4% rise in demand for AI engineers, while industrial groups such as Midea are investing billions of dollars in robotics and smart manufacturing.
