Heiman Saudi Arabia, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, announced a strategic investment in the Saudi AI company Muzn, marking the first investment made by Heiman Ventures and its first investment in a Saudi firm. The announcement is part of Heiman's new initiative for the banking, financial services and insurance sector, which aims to accelerate the adoption of sovereign AI in financial institutions.

According to the statement released by Heiman on 3 August 2026, the investment combines Heiman's integrated AI ecosystem with Muzn's enterprise products and its field engineering model expertise. The announced goal is to speed the deployment of safe AI solutions at production scale for financial institutions and the public sector.

From Lab to Production

The partnership does not stop at financing. The joint solutions to be developed will be offered through the AI Agent Marketplace in Heiman One, allowing institutions to discover, deploy and scale trusted AI applications safely. The first of these solutions will be unveiled at the LIP conference in Riyadh, with commercial rollout on a broader scale slated for the second half of 2026.

Broader Context: AI as Sovereign Infrastructure

Heiman was founded in May 2024 as a strategic arm of the Public Investment Fund in AI, aiming to build sovereign capabilities that include large language models, computing infrastructure, and sectoral applications. Its entry into the financial services sector via Muzn sets an early benchmark for how AI can move from laboratory experiments to production systems subject to the Kingdom’s governance and financial regulatory standards.

For financial institutions in the Gulf, this partnership provides a reliable local alternative to imported solutions, combining a understanding of the regional regulatory environment with advanced technical capabilities. This is precisely what banks and insurers need as they face increasing pressure to modernize their systems while complying with the requirements of the central bank and the Capital Market Authority.

Field Engineering Model: A Bridge Between Code and Context

What distinguishes Muzn in this context is its field engineering model, an approach that focuses on tailoring AI models to the actual working environments of institutions rather than providing generic models that clients must adapt themselves. Coupled with Heiman's ecosystem of models, infrastructure and applications, this model creates a shortcut from concept to safe deployment in sensitive production environments.

BFSI Sector: A Laboratory for Sovereign AI

Choosing banking, financial services and insurance as the first target sector is not random. The sector features a strict regulatory environment, high data sensitivity, and a critical need to automate complex processes while maintaining compliance. Heiman’s success in this sector would create a replicable model for other sectors such as health, energy and transport, where sovereignty and regulatory requirements are similar.

Building a Local Agent Ecosystem

The AI Agent Marketplace in Heiman One represents an early effort to create a local ecosystem of intelligent agents that can compete with global platforms by offering agents trained on Arabic and Gulf data and aligned with local governance requirements. Investment in Muzn adds specialized field engineering capabilities to this ecosystem, a layer often missing from public agent platforms and a major barrier to adoption by large institutions.

What This Means for You

If you work in the financial or tech sector in the region, the tool-testing phase is nearing its end. The next wave of AI adoption in large enterprises will be driven by solutions built for production from day one, based on local data and contexts, and backed by sovereign entities that ensure continuity and compliance. Muzn and Heiman together outline this wave, and the upcoming LIP conference will be the first public test of the model’s readiness for wide-scale deployment.
