OpenAI, through its digital academy, launches a new training track titled “Agents and Workflows,” which focuses on moving competencies from the stage of using AI to perform simple individual tasks to directing and managing multi-stage structural workflows that rely on intelligent agents. The program runs for about ninety minutes in a self paced format, offering automatic progress saving and allowing content to be resumed at varying intervals, culminating in an accredited completion certificate after the practical requirements are finished.

The curriculum is built on five operational pillars for managing agents: providing the system with context, specifying outputs precisely, defining strict boundaries and controls for the agent’s operation, reviewing and verifying results, and improving and evolving workflows over time.The development of this track has been undertaken by the teams responsible for building OpenAI models and products, and the content combines product operational guidance, research expertise, approved safety standards, and professional practices used in everyday work environments.

The track targets learners who already have experience using AI for individual tasks and wish to move to automated work with agents, with a prior recommendation to complete the foundational tracks offered by the academy. Enrollment requires a ChatGPT account with access to agent capabilities, downloading the practical work file, and identifying a real job task that the trainee regularly performs to serve as the basis for hands-on application, ensuring an applied understanding of model operation, the development of solid habits in context formulation and review, and the creation of an improved version of the chosen job task.
