MIS raises Humane data centre capacity to 250 megawatts as computing infrastructure moves beyond pilot scale

Saudi-listed Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) has announced a major expansion of its partnership with Humane, raising the capacity of its AI data centre design and build project from 50 megawatts to 250 megawatts. The increase, which adds 200 megawatts to prior commitments, marks a qualitative shift in the scale of dedicated advanced computing infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, shifting the national push for model training and deployment from limited pilot scales to large industrial capacities.
The announcement was made via a regulatory disclosure on the Saudi stock exchange (Tadawul), confirming receipt of an official award letter expanding the project scope to include the design and construction of additional data centres.The phased project raises the total contract value to more than 689 percent of the company's total revenue for 2025, a figure reflecting the exceptional scale of this expansion in MIS's operational trajectory relative to its standard annual business volume.
The step builds on a contractual framework that began in March, when MIS disclosed a contract with Humane for the initial 50 MW phase valued at over 155 percent of its 2024 revenue, including VAT. The company is preparing to begin engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work approved by Humane while finalising the legal procedures for the definitive contract, expected within two weeks, noting that the first-phase schedule remains on track and unaffected by the scope expansion.
Operationally, these figures highlight the rapid pace of capacity building required to develop and deploy AI models domestically.The jump from 50 to 250 megawatts represents a fivefold capacity increase, responding directly to the requirements of high-performance computing facilities that demand infrastructure tailored for intensive workloads and advanced power and cooling systems that differ fundamentally from standard cloud hosting centres.
For enterprises and tech firms in Saudi Arabia and the region, this expansion recalibrates access to advanced computing. Delivering large-scale local capacity enables engineering teams and developers to train models and run heavy inference workloads within national infrastructure boundaries, curbing reliance on overseas cloud platforms and supporting compliance and governance for sensitive data. The accelerated procurement and construction schedule is also driving immediate demand for engineering specialists in high-density computing facility management and energy efficiency.
Moving to 250 MW projects presents a practical test of whether supply chains and power grids can match regional AI ambitions.
