The Saudi capital, Riyadh, opened the fifth edition of the LEAP 2026 conference on August 31, bringing together major global technology companies, investors, and innovators for a four-day gathering led by artificial intelligence applications, advanced computing, smart mobility, and emerging technologies across 16 stages and more than 20 specialised content tracks.

This edition coincides with the Kingdom's Year of AI, focusing discussions on moving technology from theoretical concepts into practical deployment across business environments and infrastructure.Keynote speakers include Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, alongside AMD CEO Lisa Su, Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins, Humain CEO Tareq Amin, physicist Michio Kaku, and LaLiga President Javier Tebas, with notable executive attendance from Nvidia, Google, Meta, Uber, Lenovo, Nokia, and Luma AI.

In venture capital and investment, the conference brings together 1,289 investors representing 1,016 funds and investment institutions managing a combined $14.5 trillion in assets. In addition, 100 finalist startups in the Rocket Fuel pitch competition are competing for a total of $1 million in equity-free cash prizes, following a screening of more than 3,000 applications from around the world.

The event extends into hands-on demonstrations covering robotics and autonomous systems, where the Tech Arena stages showcase Unitree robots and the Agibot A2 Ultra humanoid robot, alongside Cognixion neural and brain-computer interface technologies. In the Future Mobility area, autonomous taxis, air taxis, and autonomous delivery drones are on display, alongside competitive gaming tracks and interactive Formula 1 simulation experiences organised in partnership with the Saudi Motorsport Company.

This concentration of institutional and technical presence creates a new reality for digital business environments across the Gulf, Egypt, and the Levant, shifting the center of gravity for tech partnerships and supply chains directly into the regional market. The concentration of chipmakers, cloud providers, and telecom giants means technology leaders at Gulf and Egyptian enterprises must reassess local infrastructure deals and pursue direct integration with global manufacturers rather than relying on intermediary distribution channels. For the region's development teams and startups, access to equity-free funding alongside direct exposure to funds managing trillions of dollars requires higher operational and software readiness to meet enterprise deployment standards, prioritizing engineering efficiency and industrial applications over generic consumer solutions.

Beyond the convention halls, LEAP Nights spans 60 events across more than 15 locations throughout Riyadh until September 4, including executive gatherings and founder meetups to strengthen professional networks. Annabelle Mander, executive vice president and co-founder of LEAP, noted that these connections represent the true value of the event beyond attendance figures and headline participation metrics.
