Computing partnerships and Alam models at LEAP 2026: the technical bet in Riyadh turns toward industrial deployment

The “LEAP 2026” conference concluded its activities at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, recording broad participation that exceeded 600 start-ups, 1,000 speakers, 1,800 global technology brands, and about 1,900 investors. This edition reflected a noticeable shift in the nature of institutional and technical attendance, with attention focused on localising advanced technologies and building computing and artificial-intelligence infrastructure to link them to productive sectors, under the slogan “To New Worlds”.
The expansion of the strategic partnership between Microsoft and Humaine emerged as one of the clearest practical indicators of this trajectory, as the agreement includes integrating Arabic language models into Microsoft’s AI ecosystem and allocating dedicated teams to support organisations in scaling operational applications.It coincided with the announcement by Tarek Amin, chief executive officer of Humaine, of a product suite and investment allocations in artificial intelligence, reflecting a shift from exploratory experiments to building organisational capabilities and expanding infrastructure.
At the hardware and processor level, a keynote opening session brought together Lisa Su, chief executive officer of AMD, and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Suwaiha to discuss the foundations of computing in the AI era. Global firms such as Cisco and Adobe also participated alongside major national entities, with Saudi Aramco’s involvement focusing on integrating automation tools, big data and AI into energy production operations, supply chains and safety procedures, aiming to boost industrial competitive efficiency.
On the commercial front, the Riyadh Chamber led efforts to connect the business community with emerging tech investments to push agreements toward on-site implementation. At the same time, bilateral deal chambers between start-up founders and venture-capital funds became active to turn innovations and software solutions into sustainable commercial entities and job opportunities, through pathways that included cybersecurity, cloud computing, fintech, healthcare and smart cities.
This industrial orientation imposes clear requirements on technology managers and engineers in Gulf, Egyptian and Levantine companies, as the focus shifts from testing consumer-grade models to integrating specialised infrastructure.Integrating Arabic language models into global cloud platforms offers regional organisations greater flexibility in building solutions that comply with local data-governance requirements, while also requiring engineering teams to acquire advanced skills in system automation and linking intelligent agents to operational processes and supply chains to reduce operating costs and improve performance.
The decisive metric for the conference’s outcomes remains the post-exhibition phase, and the ability of participants to translate initial understandings into tangible joint projects, deploy smart solutions in factories and government agencies, and enable start-ups to achieve financial sustainability and a stable customer base within the real market.
