When AI reaches software testing, the question is no longer how many test cases the team can generate. The harder question is what remains for the engineer to verify before a change reaches the user. That question was at the heart of BrowserStack's quality-assurance meetup in Dubai, where the sessions did not stop at promises of faster testing but put on the table the shape of work that changes when the writing of repetitive tests moves to AI-powered tools.

The evidence available after the meetup comes from speaker Diksha Gupta and from a report by an attendee. Gupta delivered a hands-on session on generating test cases with AI assistance and described the interaction and questions in the room. The attendee Sivasankar Pazhani also recorded that Alexey Altunin demonstrated how Careem uses AI to transform quality-assurance processes, including automating test flows and conducting comprehensive testing of mobile applications on Android and iOS.

From Writing the Test to Reviewing It:This is the practical shift that emerged in the second session. The idea is not for the team to accept a generated test case as-is, but to review it and organize it within the context of requirements. For this reason the attendee spoke about the shift of focus from writing repetitive tests to reviewing and aligning the AI-generated tests. It is a redistribution of responsibility, not its elimination.

Here the value becomes clearer for product teams in the region. Release pressure does not disappear, and platform diversity does not lessen, but faster delivery is not a standalone quality metric. What the meetup presented places review in its proper place: a verification point between requirement, test and outcome. If the team cannot explain why the model chose a particular case, or what it omitted, the speed of generation turns into a new burden on the launch line.

The Path Does Not Pass Through a Single Layer:The subsequent report linked backend testing, load testing and comprehensive mobile testing. It mentioned the use of Maestro to automate end-to-end testing of Android and iOS applications. This detail matters because it moves the discussion away from the notion of a single tool doing everything. Testing moves across different layers, and each layer needs a clear criterion for what counts as a valid result, as well as a person who knows when to trust automation and when to re-examine.

The idea of specification-based testing also emerged, with reference to Kiro and smart test-generation tools. In its simplest form, test quality starts from the clarity of what the product should do, not from the number of lines the team writes. Therefore adopting AI does not address an ambiguous requirement. It may produce a well-organized test, but it remains organized around an undefined goal if the specification does not set it.

The Metric Worth Tracking:It is not the number of generated tests, but the number of decisions the team can examine faster and with higher confidence. That is the difference between automating output stacking and automating the ability to judge. For quality leaders, the work starts from two direct questions: which parts of the test flow actually drain engineers’ time, and which human review must remain explicit regardless of tool improvements.

What remains of the BrowserStack meetup is not a ready-made recipe, but useful practical limits. Generation tools can trim repetitive work, but software quality remains tied to the person who reviews the requirement, reads the result and decides that the test is sufficient. In fast-paced product-adoption teams, this distinction may be the most valuable gain from introducing AI into quality assurance. The value does not appear when the tool is run for the first time, but when this inspection becomes a habit within the team, linked to requirements and a clear responsibility for each release.
