FortyGuard Opens Urban Heat Data to AI Builders in Global Hackathon
FortyGuard is running a free global online hackathon from August 18 to 30, inviting participants to build AI applications on high-resolution urban heat data for a total of $6,000 in prizes.
FortyGuard, an urban temperature intelligence company with offices in Abu Dhabi at Hub71 in Abu Dhabi Global Market and in San Jose, is opening a global online hackathon for participants to build AI applications on its Temperature API. The API measures urban temperatures two metres above ground level at a resolution of up to ten square miles, using NVIDIA-certified large temperature models. There are seven tracks, covering cities, resilient infrastructure, buildings, energy, intelligent agents and correlation analysis in data.
Date: August 18 to 30, 2026, followed by judging from September 1 to 15 and the winners announced on September 16
Venue: Online, open to participants from every country
Who it is for: Developers, researchers, students, designers and anyone interested in climate solutions, from experienced engineers to students working on their first project

Why attend: Participants receive free access to the Temperature API, trial credit, documentation, technical support and a community for questions. They can also compete for a total of $6,000 in prizes across the top three places. Every participant receives a certificate, while winning teams receive training and incubation pathways and an opportunity to present to the company's partner network.
