Canada Opens Public Consultation on AI Transparency Rules

What happened: On July 23, the Canadian government launched a public consultation on strengthening the transparency of AI systems and their outputs. It runs until September 23, 2026. The consultation seeks views from residents, businesses, researchers and civil society on labelling AI-generated content, notifying people when they interact with an AI system, and providing understandable information about its capabilities and limitations.
