With Saudi Arabia's announcement that 2026 will be the Year of Artificial Intelligence, the tech environment is undergoing a qualitative shift that goes beyond early digital experiments toward embedding advanced predictive data solutions into the core of critical facilities. In this context, the American company SAS, which has specialized in data analytics and continuous learning management since its founding in 1976, has strengthened its institutional weight in the region after selecting Riyadh as a regional hub for its Middle East and North Africa operations, relying on the development of digital infrastructure that now accommodates highly complex technological processing.

Although the American company has been present in the Saudi market since 1984, the current regulatory and operational maturity has pushed smart solutions to the forefront of major projects.These partnerships in the energy sector are evident through ongoing collaboration with Saudi Aramco, as well as direct work with the Saudi Energy Company to devise solutions that forecast electricity consumption rates and develop long-term plans that help fine-tune operating trajectories and anticipate loads accurately, alongside providing water systems with multiple analyses that enhance the sustainability of operational and financial resources.

The practical applications of these technologies focus on addressing two main challenges in production facilities: the first involves forecasting future market trends to avoid erroneous estimates and budget waste, and the second centers on proactive maintenance of machinery within factories. This mechanism relies on detecting potential failures and monitoring the behavior of mechanical and electrical equipment early, enabling repairs before sudden shutdowns occur and preventing stress on sensitive industrial assets.

At the level of building human capacity, the company launched a sustainable program that targets attracting national talent, beginning with outreach to universities to train students for six months with pay as a prelude to integrating them into the labor market, while simultaneously expanding educational programs in schools and universities to prepare students for future jobs. The rollout of these projects coincided with the Global Artificial Intelligence Conference in Riyadh, which attracted more than ten thousand participants and one hundred international experts and leaders from eighty countries to discuss the future of technology policy and digital transformation.

This shift toward localizing global company hubs imposes a new reality on technology and operations managers in the Gulf and the region, as market demands move away from generative tools toward industrial predictive algorithms and asset management.For production and utility sectors in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, this means that feasibility assessment is no longer tied to testing software interfaces, but to the models' ability to reduce failure costs and improve the efficiency of energy-network consumption. It also highlights the need to redirect engineering talent toward field data analysis and to leverage the presence of regional hubs to enforce local governance standards that ensure business continuity and protect sensitive data.
