The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the kingdom's central data and AI body, brought together experts, specialists, and creative professionals for an open panel titled 'Creative Content Through AI Technologies' to examine the industry's future in Saudi Arabia. The meeting, held on 18 August 2026 and reported by the Saudi Press Agency, was designed not merely to demonstrate technical capabilities, but to examine how generative tools are reshaping business models, work environments, and the generation, development, and production of ideas.
From technical complexity to creative directionThe discussions highlighted advances in generative AI tools capable of processing visual and audio content, reducing the technical workload on creators and allowing them to focus their energy on creative direction. Models capable of generating high-definition video from text prompts, with control over camera angles, motion, lighting, and audio synchronisation, are no longer future promises but tools available today. Alongside them, intelligent dubbing and multi-language lip-syncing technologies preserve original vocal tone and emotion, opening the door to wider global distribution for Arabic content without compromising its character.
Changing business modelsParticipants discussed how artificial intelligence is altering business models and work environments, and how ideas are generated, developed, and produced using these tools. The focus is no longer solely on automating repetitive tasks, but on a partnership between human intuition and computational power: artificial intelligence handles heavy technical execution, while the creator steers the vision and makes aesthetic decisions.
National talent at the centre of the equationSDAIA did not limit the discussion to technology, but sought to enable domestic talent to develop skills in using generative AI tools and explore opportunities for innovation and creative production. The message is clear: technology alone does not produce content, and it is the balance between human creativity and artificial intelligence that improves workflows, raises output quality, and opens new creative avenues.
The meeting reflects a broader trend across the kingdom: shifting from discussing artificial intelligence as a concept to integrating it into productive and cultural sectors, while ensuring Saudi creators are active partners in shaping this future rather than passive consumers of its tools.
