One hundred thirty-five employees today, and 1,365 in three years. That is the target announced by the U.S. firm InteLogix as it opens its Egyptian headquarters in New Cairo this week, a tenfold increase in a sector said daily to be devoured by artificial intelligence.

Who is the company and what is it doing here

InteLogix operates in outsourcing, that is, executing business processes for other companies (BPO), alongside customer experience and IT services for international markets. The opening was attended by Ahmed Al-Zahir, chief executive of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), Mario Badour, the company’s chief executive officer, and Tarek Zidan, vice-president of operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and managing partner of InteLogix Egypt.

The company did not start from scratch. This expansion follows its earlier acquisition this year of the Egyptian firm Athir, based in Cairo, and its integration into the company’s global delivery network, expanding its capabilities in AI-supported multilingual services.

Why this number matters now

The common notion is that customer-service centers are the first functions companies cut when AI tools are introduced. Yet the firm speaks of roughly 1,230 additional jobs in Egypt, describing its services as AI-supported. The most plausible explanation is that the tools change what is required of humans in this work, and the demand for them remains.

That is what Ahmed Al-Zahir said explicitly: AI and automation are reshaping the outsourcing industry, expanding the range and complexity of services delivered from Egypt and pushing the sector toward higher-value activities. He added that global companies choose Egypt because of a combination of factors: a deep talent pool, broad technical skills, linguistic capabilities, scalability, operating costs and proximity to major markets.

The biggest market behind the deal

InteLogix is not an isolated case. Outsourcing export revenues in Egypt reached $5.2 billion in 2025, across 252 export-oriented firms, including 177 multinationals, employing more than 195,000 professionals. By that measure, the new jobs are a small addition to a large sector, but a clear signal of the direction foreign firms are taking: acquiring an existing local company and linking it to an international client network.

Mario Badour said that choosing Egypt to launch the company’s operations aligns with its strategy of building an operational base that supports international clients while expanding its presence in the Egyptian market.

There is a detail worth noting for those living outside the capital. According to an analysis by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies of the labor market in the first quarter of 2026, Cairo alone accounted for 65.5 percent of advertised jobs, and the Greater Cairo region captured more than 82 percent of office positions. The opening of a new office in New Cairo adds to this concentration and does not come close in opportunities to other governorates.

What the company has not disclosed

The published coverage does not break down the allocation of new positions by role, nor does it specify salary ranges, required languages, or a hiring timeline over the three years. Therefore, it is premature to judge the type of opportunities that will be opened, or whether most will be in direct customer service or in technical and supervisory roles.

Your step if you are thinking about this sector

The company serves international markets and relies on multilingual capabilities, so the second foreign language after English is the clearest advantage you can offer. Frequent references to AI-powered services mean that anyone who knows how to work side-by-side with smart assistance tools and reviews what they suggest instead of copying it will be in a better position. Watch the company's job page over the coming months, as the expansion from 135 to 1,365 will not occur all at once.
