Data & AI Capability Manager at Robusta, Cairo
Robusta in Cairo is looking for a Data & AI Capability Manager to lead the transformation of a data platform from proof of concept to production on Microsoft Fabric for an enterprise client, with salary undisclosed.
Role:Data & AI Capability Manager at Robusta in Cairo, Egypt. The posting was published on 17 September 2026 and also describes the role as Data Delivery Lead within the project.
Primary challenge:The first phase of the project has already concluded, defining the target architecture, delivery methodology, and validating the concept. The next step is to turn that foundation into a production ready data platform for a large enterprise client, using Microsoft Azure with Microsoft Fabric at its core. The incumbent will own the end to end data pipeline from planning to production: leading the data engineering team, translating the existing architecture and roadmap into concrete technical deliverables and clear priorities, overseeing data ingestion, transformation, modeling and quality, and making technical decisions within the data engineering scope and articulating them. The posting also assigns a wholly non technical responsibility: early identification of delivery risks and steering them to resolution with project managers, and embedding reusable data engineering practices for future projects.
Key requirements:Proven experience leading data engineering or data platform delivery within a project environment. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services and practical experience with Microsoft Fabric or a comparable modern cloud data platform. Deep understanding of modern platform architectures and lakehouse design. Strong SQL skills and practical experience in Python or PySpark. Experience in data pipelines, orchestration and data quality, and experience leading or mentoring data engineers. The posting explicitly requires the ability to balance technical decisions with delivery priorities, timelines and project constraints, alongside strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred but not required: experience with dbt, integrating enterprise system data such as ERP, and CI/CD and automated deployment.
Salary:Not disclosed.
Practical step:This is a delivery role before it becomes a technical role, and the posting states this clearly when it asks to balance the technical decision with the schedule. Prepare a short narrative of a data project you led before applying: what was within the scope of the first phase, what risk you identified early, and how you shifted priorities because of it. Mention the tools later, and start with the decision.
