What changed:An analysis published by GulfTalent on July 15 found that AI-related skills or tools appeared in 3.4% of professional vacancies advertised in the first half of 2026, or roughly one job in 30, up from 1.2% in 2022. The analysis covered 118,000 direct vacancies in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar from January 2022 to June 2026.

What it means for you:The increase does not mean that the entire market has shifted to building models. Of 420 AI-related vacancies classified in detail during the first half of 2026, about one third required using AI within the job, another third focused on implementing its solutions, and nearly one quarter were in sales. Fewer than one in ten were dedicated to building and training models. You can therefore demonstrate practical value even if you are not a machine-learning engineer.

Who is affected:Technology leads, with close to one in three vacancies linked to AI, followed by banking and audit at about one in 15. Demand also appears in sales, marketing, product management and consulting roles. The share rises to about one in 12 senior-leadership vacancies, compared with one in 30 individual-contributor roles.

The practical takeaway:Choose five roles you are targeting, then classify their requirements under one of four paths: using AI tools, implementing solutions, selling products or building models. Add one measurable example to your CV that matches the most common path, rather than merely naming a tool.
